Sony BRAVIA XBR KDL-32XBR9 32-Inch Review

Buy From Amazon: Sony BRAVIA XBR KDL-32XBR9 32-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV

The Sony Bravia XBR KDL 32in makes for a perfect bedroom TV. It is large enough to view comfortably from across the room yet isn’t so large as to take up a vast amount of space. Not to mention its one of the few smaller TV’s that have the ability to go 1080p, with a massive 40000:1 contrast ratio to boot. The 4 hdmi inputs also come in handy for someone who has lots of inputs such as computers, video games, and cable boxes.

One of the best aspects about this TV is the contrast ratio. The black is true black, its as dark as when the TV is powered off which is something not many TV’s are able to pull off. Another one of my favorite aspects is that the TV remembers your color and picture settings for individual inputs and since my computer, Xbox, and cable box all tend to need slightly different settings for an optimal picture this is a key feature to have.

One of the things that I disliked however is that the TV takes about 15-30 seconds to power on. This isn’t a terribly long time however I am used to having a picture as soon as I press the power button. I also disliked how the video inputs were on the side of the TV which can make for some unsightly wires if you are trying to keep a neat home entertainment set up.

Overall however the cons of this TV pale in comparison to the pros. Some slight functionality and aesthetic negatives in no way compare to the amazing contrast ratio and clarity of picture with HD movies and games. And to top it all of its at an affordable price to boot, its only about 100$ more than most 32 inch TVS and those don’t have the premium features that the Sony Bravia offers.
